My father’s parents came to the U.S. from Mexico and my mother emigrated from Spain. Through hard work, my grandparents and my parents created a better life for us in America.
Today, I am a mother of six with a family of my own. I feel a duty to pass my parents’ work ethic and love of this country on to my kids. I am concerned, though, because government programs that are supposed to help Hispanics are actually creating a troubling cycle of dependency and diminished dreams. I joined LIBRE because it’s an organization that shares my cultural values – family, hard work, and entrepreneurship. In fact, Latinos start businesses at twice the rate of other Americans! The secret to our success has always been our reliance on our own talent, families, work ethic, and our drive for a better life – not government handouts. At LIBRE, we help Hispanics achieve the American Dream through:
Empowerment: We inform the public about policies that impact our families through events and workshops to help you start a small business, manage your finances, or become a voice for self-reliance and prosperity in your family and your community.
Community: Join a supportive community of like-minded, passionate Hispanics who are committed to making the U.S. a better place for all hard-working Americans.
Impact: Unite your efforts with thousands of Hispanics working to convince political leaders to support policies that help Hispanics prosper and create our own destiny. Through community events, phone banks, emails, petitions on topics of interest to you, and person-to-person contact – we can make our voices heard.
I’ve never seen a network of such committed, caring people, devoted to giving the Hispanic community a voice and keeping the American Dream alive. Join us. We can make a difference together.
We are a go-to resource of information for media outlets throughout the country on issues impacting Hispanics and through our engagement with national leaders, we’re making sure Hispanics have a voice in the most influential debates.
We empower local communities by providing classes on English proficiency and citizenship, helping with tax preparation, and entrepreneurship.

Having struggled with drugs and alcohol himself, Pastor Mike knows firsthand how dependency and a lack of opportunities can impact a life. Now a minister, he has devoted his life to helping those who find themselves caught in similar struggles. He has partnered with LIBRE to help equip his congregation with the tools they need to succeed.
